Sometimes I step outside of what I know, I am curious and excited about meeting someone that wasn't on my radar..I lucked out the day Katie Grand introduced me to the sweet, friendly, energetic and talented (oh, did I mention sexy in that I TOTALLY GET IT sexy way)....Emily Ratajkowski. She came by to get an outfit for The Love Magazine signing at BOOKMARC (a fund raising event for Designers against Aids) earlier this year..Her energy and funny story's of a face mask for her plans on Valentine's Day was real and charming and stuck with me. As a sports illustrated swim suit model, as an actor in GONE GIRL and an all around sweet, fun and friendly woman- thank you for bringing your brand of red hot sex appeal and glamour to this David Sims portrait from our Fall/Winter campaign.

I first met Christy in 1987. Both inside and out, she is one of the most beautiful people I know! Having had retired from doing fashion shows, she had promised me she would "walk the runway" for me when we started up our company. In 1994, she flew herself to NYC from San Francisco keeping her word. In 2003 we collaborated on her Yoga bag, and in 2006 she appeared in our PROTECT THE SKIN YOU'RE IN project. Photographed here by David Sims for our Fall/Winter campaign...my friend, the incredibly generous and absolutely gorgeous Christy Turlington.

In 2008 I was introduced to Jamie Bochert who's stunning and cool portrait by David Sims I "leak" tonite. To start, and for the lack of a better word, Jamie is a true "muse" to me and the design team. Not only does she continuously, effortlessly inspire all of us with her unique style- she never fails to give her all professionally and equally as a loyal, thoughtful and caring friend. This is Jamie's second "appearance" in our ad campaigns. Recently, for the magical evening that was our DECADENCE perfume launch, we all watched and listened, completely hypnotized as Jamie performed her beautiful and haunting rendition of Wild as the Wind.

I remember exactly how equally excited (and intimidated) I felt when I first met Kim in 1992. I was a huge fan, and she represented all that was intelligent, unconventionally creative and cool...awkward, powerful, the epitome of artistic credibility and a seductive intensity that I'd never known. In 1992 Sonic Youth were working on a video for their song Sugar Kane, from their album Dirty. My friend Nick Egan was directing it and introduced me to Kim and Thurston. The intimidation I felt disappeared after they'd invited me to their place to talk about the video. Filmed at the Perry Ellis showroom, centered on my grunge collection, while Sonic Youth played, Kims friend Chloe Sevigny starred along with a cast of friends, models and fashion editors (You Tube it)! From that point on, my respect, admiration and friendship with Kim grew. In our first ever ad, photographed by Juergen Teller in 1998 Kim appeared wearing a dress of mine while performing on stage in London. Kim, Thurston, Coco and Louise appeared in our 2003 campaign. SY performed center stage while models walked around them in our Fall/Winter 2008 show. Several times while on tour in Europe, they stayed with me in my Paris apartment..I was excited and impressed to see Coco's artwork.. I have learned so much about art from Kim. Kim and Coco are photographed here by David Sims. A personal and stunning portrait to end our extraordinary portfolio with. Thank you to all of my endlessly inspiring friends for being part of this campaign. And, to all the amazing talents who've made it happen. I am so truly grateful to you all.

Rachel Feinstein and John Currin are the most magical couple I know. The art that each of them creates has inspired me since I met them at the "Dear Painter, Paint Me" show in Paris, Centre Georges Pompidou, 2003. Johns "Rachel in Fur" inspired our Fall/Winter 2004 collection. Rachel was first photographed in their home for that campaign by Juergen Teller. Rachel also created an extraordinary set for our Fall/Winter 2012 show. The two of them together photographed by David Sims is a true masterpiece!
