Volgende week start eindelijk het tweede seizoen van de populaire Netflixserie Riverdale en het lijkt erop dat het nieuwste seizoen heel spannend gaat worden. Dit is wat we er tot nu toe over weten.
1. Lili Reinhart a.k.a. Betty Cooper is er nog niet zeker van of zij haar relatie met Jughead (gespeeld door Cole Sprouse) volhoudt in het tweede seizoen onthult ze in een interview met Teen Vogue. “There's definitely, it seems to be like, countless forces that want to pry them apart. I’ve been able to see the challenges that have been thrown their way. And, it’s definitely hard. They’re young, they’re in love, and they’re trying to make it work. But, sometimes, the forces that be just don’t allow a love to survive. And sometimes love conquers the challenges, and they do end up together."
“We're not even halfway through the season. You never know what kind of twists and turns will be thrown our way and where our characters will end up going. But, for right now, I'm definitely rooting for Betty and Jughead to pull through. But, it's all about as long as they're happy together. They're both going through such different things that if their relationship Is only causing them stress in their lives, then it might be better to let it go."
2. Je hoeft je geen zorgen te maken dat Betty Cooper en Veronica Lodge (gespeeld door Cami Mendes) frenemies worden, vertelt Lili in een interview. "When it comes to Betty and Veronica fighting, you have these two women who are so opposite in a lot of different ways. The nature of that causes quarreling sometimes. They're never, I don't think, ever going to hate each other. There are going to be be fights and challenges that come their way. But they overcome it, because they're Betty and Veronica."
3. Nadat Betty en Cheryl Blossom erachter komen dat zij related zijn, bloeit daar gaat daar een nieuwe ‘friendship’ opbloeien. “Betty and Cheryl do interact in season 2, obviously they find out that they're related third cousins or something like that. They definitely are navigating those waters, but right off the bat, that's not the focus. They have so many family problems and other bigger fish to fry than that, but Betty and Cheryl's relationship is something we touch on later in the season.”
4. ‘Dark Betty’ gaan we vaker tegenkomen in het nieuwe seizoen. “And, season two becomes a boiling-over point for her where she kind of lets go and lets the darkness come out. She lets that dark side of her live a little bit, and come to the surface and stay there. It's not just a moment in a hot tub. It's something much more intense and much more real than that.”
5. Na alle fan theorieën en speculaties over de broer van Betty, krijgen we eindelijk meer duidelijkheid wat betreft zijn identiteit. “But it is interesting to see the theories. But, to be honest, I feel like I can't necessarily say with 100% certainty that a lot of theories aren't true.”
6. We gaan een zachtere kant van Cheryl Blossom zien in het tweede seizoen. "The undercurrent for Cheryl this season is just that she wants to be loved and she needs to be love.She hasn't felt love since her brother left the world. You do see a lot of camaraderie between the gang and her in very interesting ways. Cheryl goes through a couple of really huge things that will torture her, and the gang is there for her every single time."
7. De relatie tussen Josie McCoy (Ashley Murray) en Reggie Mantle (Charles Meton) gaat heel erg heet worden, vertelt Murray in een Interview. "It's kind of a love-hate situation," Murray says. "You get to see that unfold. It's going be a lot of fun to play. Charles is so much fun as a person. He's even more fun to work with. You'll be able to see that energy and that chemistry that we share on screen."
8. Archie Andrews’ (gespeeld door KJ Apa) muziekcarrière is nog niet helemaal over. "I think that part is pretty much under wraps, [...] but you can definitely expect more"
Het nieuwe seizoen van Riverdale is vanaf volgende week te zien op Netflix.
