Is er leven na Victoria Beckham? Yes, there is. Jeanslabel Rock & Republic werd beroemd door Vic als gastontwerpster, maar gaat nu door zonder Posh.
“The brand has come a long way since Mrs Beckham,” vertelt de directrice van R&R, Andrea Bernholtz, aan het blad Vogue. "The collection with Victoria really came about very naturally. It was an easy thing to do - because she was a friend and liked the product - but that was for then. I really think celebrity collaborations have seen their height. It was a long time ago, we're doing something new now."
Dat is duidelijke taal: R&R kan het duidelijk goed af zonder Victoria en vindt celebrity-samenwerkingen achterhaald. Maar ze zijn nog wél steeds heel blij als beroemdheden hun kleding dragen. "We have dressed Ciara for her latest tour, Beyoncé wore the make-up for her tour. We're very fortunate because people from Miley Cyrus to Steve Tyler are fans and that helps customers see that anyone can wear it."
En het merk is flink aan het uitbreiden, naast jeans hebben ze nu ook allerlei andere items, zoals bovenkleding, accessoires, make-up en zelfs spulletjes voor je hond. Er is ook een heuse Recession Collection.
