Beautykliniek 'beschuldigt' Kate Middleton van het gebruiken van botox en Kensington Palace is niet blij

Kate Middleton moet de schijnwerpers inmiddels delen met Meghan Markle en dat vindt ze helemaal niet erg. Sterker nog, eerder gaf ze al toe dat ze het wel fijn vindt dat niet alleen zij in de gaten wordt gehouden door de pers die best wel intens kan zijn. De verminderde aandacht betekent overigens niet dat ze helemaal met rust gelaten wordt.

Een plastisch chirurg met de naam Munir Somji - die werkt bij Dr. Medi Spa wat op steenworp afstand van het paleis ligt waar de royals wonen - deelde deze week een voor en na foto van Kate Middleton waarmee hij wilde bewijzen dat ze botox zou hebben gebruikt. "Our Kate loves a bit of baby Botox. Note the reduction of fine lines on the forehead. But also note the depression of the medial (middle part) brow but elevation of the lateral tail of the brow."

Je begrijpt dat Kensington Palace not amused was en er werd dan ook snel een verklaring gegeven. "It is categorically not true and in addition, The Royal Family never endorse commercial activity", aldus Kensington Palace an The New York Times.

Hoe plastisch chirurg Munir Somji, als specialist in botox zijnde, met de bewering kwam is dan ook niet duidelijk. De vraag rijst of Kate misschien patiënt bij Dr. Medi Spa was en daar wil de kliniek verder geen uitlatingen over doen. "We wouldn’t be able to disclose whether she is a client or not. We have non-disclosure agreements where we can’t disclose our high-end clients. We absolutely can’t comment at all that she has come to us. The doctor thought it was a good comparison picture to use to show the effects of Botox and obviously baby Botox which he does himself. He just wanted to show the transformation that it can create and obviously how it can be used for subtle results and how it’s really good for anti-aging."
